The carousel officially closed on Sat., Jan. 30 after its lease expired.

In place of the carousel, Westfield has entered into a partnership with the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood to use the space vacated by the carousel to promote the arts within the community, Westfield Marketing Manager Melissa Koronakis said.

In December, BergenPAC opened a promotional store nearby the carousel in the Garden State Plaza, the Paramus Post reports.

Koronakis said a schedule of events for the new performance area will be released in the coming weeks.
