Families can spend time with officers from Clifton and the Passaic County Sheriff's Department from 6-9 p.m.

There will be a train ride, obstacle course and a home run challenge.

Children can meet McGruff the Crime Dog and get fingerprinted for free.

Later on, attendees can watch "Minions."

Members of Clifton's SWAT team and the Passaic County Sheriff's Department's Mounted Unit, K-9, and Bomb Squad are scheduled to be there.

The idea of National Night Out Against Crime is for the community to unite with the local police department, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.

The event takes place at Main Memorial Park (1395 Main Avenue).
