Hawthorne Brings Free Summer Events To Boro Bandshell

HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- The Hawthorne Boro Bandshell kicked off its summer season of free events on Father's Day, and there are seven yet to come.

Thursday, July 7 -- tribute to Sinatra with the Silver Starlite Orchestra
Sunday, July 17 -- movie night, with "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" (rated G)
Thursday, July 28 -- La Diva Tenors
Sunday, Aug. 7 -- movie night, with "Toy Story" (rated G)
Sunday, Aug. 14 -- a Fight for Autism event, with Hawthorne All-Star Bands
Thursday, Aug. 25 -- local bands Fat Bone and Soulrunner
Thursday, Sept. 8 -- Cubanoson, featuring Papo Ortega

The bandshell is located on the grounds of the municipal pool, on the upper lawn area. For these events, the grounds open at 6:30 p.m. and the shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own chairs or blankets.

Refreshments from Gourmet Express and Rita's Italian Ice will also be available for sale.
