The Shannon Rose Irish Pub and the Kohler Distributing Company recently presented a $5,526 check to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, according to a joint statement from the businesses.

According to the statement, the money was raised during the third annual Punkin Chunkin competition at the pub’s Clifton and Ramsey locations. The competition challenged participants to test their strength by launching pumpkins into the “Chunkin Patch” for the chance to win prizes.

The restaurant added to it’s the fundraiser by donating a portion of the sales of pumpkin-themed menu items made available at both pubs, according to the statement, which said the Kohler Distributing Company then matched the pubs’ donations.

According to the statement, the pubs and distributing company presented the check to the research hospital on Nov. 17. The money will go toward St. Jude’s mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric diseases through research and treatment.
