Animal control responded to neighbors' complaints earlier this week of an emaciated puppy with a strong odor who was tied to a porch with no food or water, the site says.

The officer took him off the chain after he collapsed from the excitement of having a visitor and brought him home, the page says.

The pup wagged his tail the whole time and drank all of the water out of toilet before she could stop him, according to the GoFundMe.

Owners admitted that the puppy hadn't eaten in days and RBARI rescuers rushed to give the puppy, later named Pax, the medical attention that he needed, the GoFundMe says.

Pax showered his rescuers with love and will need a home once he's fully rehabilitated.
