DVlicious Year In Review: Pizza, Wings, Sushi Win Big In Passaic

PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. -- Daily Voice readers had a lot of fun this fall choosing winners in three popular food categories as part of our ongoing DVlicious contest. Among the choices:

First, readers gave us the names of their personal favorites. Those names were then whittled down to three finalists. There was good-natured rivalry, with the competing restaurants urging their customers to vote for them.

The 2015 winners in Passaic County, decided by Daily Voice readers, were:

PIZZA: Patsy's in Paterson was crowned "the big cheese" in part because of its “old school atmosphere and terrific pizza."

The eatery, with its walls featuring photos of regular customers, some who have been coming to the restaurant since it opened in 1931, won with 36 percent of the vote.

Patsy’s is at 72 7th Ave., (973) 742-9596.

WINGS: Jimmy Geez North in Haledon was the “amaz-wing” winner with 57 percent of the vote.

With more than 10 wings and up to 20 dressings, -- not to mention the continuing addition of new sauces -- customers never get bored.

Jimmy Geez North has two locations: 436 Belmont Ave., Haledon (973) 790-9729 and 3219 Rte. 23 South, Oak Ridge (973) 697-4339.

SUSHI: Mr. Sushi in Pompton Lakes is on a roll! The eatery won "Best Sushi in Passaic County" with 78 percent of the vote.

Diners like its inventive options including the aptly named Pompton roll: spicy tuna roll, deep fried with spicy crab on top.
