The site -- which was built between 1740 and 1750 and served as General George Washington’s Revolutionary War headquarters in the Preakness Valley – will be added to Google Expeditions’ virtual reality database, according to a press release from Passaic County.
Through an app, Google Expeditions provides 360 degree views of sites such as historic landmarks and museums, which can be integrated with course curriculums, according to the county.
“I am thrilled that Google is funding this phenomenal education initiative. The Expedition App brings all of this history into the classroom, and provides students with a more impactful learning experience,” said Freeholder Director Sandi Lazzara.
Other sites already in the database include the Great Wall of China and the Mayan ruins.
