PROSPECT PARK, N.J. -- Prospect Park's summer camp is coming. It's open to kids from ages 5-14, as campers, and ages 15-16 for counselors-in-training ages. There are eight week-long sessions, and the first begins on Monday, June 27.
The camp is open to both residents and non-residents. Each session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an early drop-off/late pick-up option.
Prospect Park's Camp Hofstra is located in 77-acre Hofstra Park, which includes a playground, water play area, baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts. Camp days include nature walks, access to the spray park, games, field trips, arts and crafts, a variety of sports activities, and of course breakfast and lunch.
"It promises to be interactive and fun-filled, as our camp promotes personal development and the ability to acquire quality skill sets in a productive atmosphere," organizers note.
You can register for individual week-long sessions, though there are discounts for longer periods. Find the camp registration form here. Return it -- and payment -- to the Recreation Office in the Municipal Building at 106 Brown Ave, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
