WAYNE, N.J. -- The Wayne Department of Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for lifeguards and gate guards at the James Roe Pool and Kilroy Lake.

Those hired are expected to work from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Employees under the age of 18 are required to provide working papers from their schools.

Lifeguards are responsible to make sure their certifications are up to date prior to the start of employment.

Employees whose certification is scheduled to expire during the 2016 season must make sure they re-certify, in order to continue employment throughout the summer.

Lifeguards who are employed at the lake must have the Waterfront Lifeguarding Certificate.

Applications for 2016 will only be accepted with copies of current certifications.
