Ginger Pierro brought dozens of gifts she collected to the Tomorrows Children's Fund at HackensackUMC "just because," she said.

"I just love to try to help as much as possible, no matter what time of year it is," said Pierro, who last spring organized a Princess Ball for an ailing girl in Elmwood Park.

Putting a smile on a child's face is the best gift of all.

The first time Pierro did the toy drive was in 2011. It was then she ran into a very grateful mother in the halls of the hospital.

"She was so sincere and grateful," Pierro told Daily Voice. "The child was in complete disbelief when she saw the toys, and especially when she got to be the first to chose one."

From then on, Pierro made a promise to continue the toy drive every year.
