Shannon Lombardo called 311, and NYC sanitation workers helped direct her to the trash facility in Fairview where garbage goes before it's transported to landfills, the article says.
Lombardo and her husband cut into some trash bags and by a stroke of luck, found a piece of mail with an address near theirs, ABC7 says.
The couple kept cutting into bags nearby until they found their own trash bag, inside of it the wedding ring, according to ABC7.
