Lyndhurst Gym Hero Aims To 'Pay It Forward' Following Passaic River Rescue

LYNDHURST, N.J. — Jay Moss was leaving King's Court Health and Sports Club in Lyndhurst when he saw a car jump the curb and plunge into the Passaic River, NJ.com reports.

Jay Moss jumped into the Passaic River to save a woman whose car had jumped a curb and plunged in on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Secaucus hero drove across the bridge to where Tuesday's incident occurred off of Route 21 in Nutley and — with little hesitation — jumped in after the car, NJ.com said.

Moss has received accolades by loved ones and strangers for his swift response in rescuing the unconscious woman from the driver's seat but he doesn't feel he's worthy of the praise.

"Doing the right thing I don't believe should be rewarded," Moss said in a Facebook post. "Instead, pay it forward today."
