Zire King apparently overdosed on drugs in a closet during a several hour-long standoff with police on Friday, police said.

"It was probably a drug overdose or a seizure," a responder at the scene told Daily Voice at the time of the incident.

"They're treating it as a suicide."

Authorities said King's girlfriend was extremely cooperative with police, alerting them he was in her house and that he may have had a weapon.
