N.J. — The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said it will implement gate changes at its midtown Manhattan terminal on Sept. 8 to improve access and service to bus customers, including those of NJ Transit and independent carriers.

The changes are a continuation of initiatives that include the addition of WiFi service, the expansion of MyTix and the improved reliability of service and reduced wait times during peak PM commuting hours, the authority said.

Carriers will be consolidated into specific areas of the terminal to make it less difficult for customers to locate their specific carrier, as well as reduce customer congestion and traffic conflicts, which the authority said should make for a less stressful and more streamlined commuting experience for customers.

Officials say the reorganization is part of an ongoing collaborative effort among the authority, NJ Transit and independent carriers to improve operations, efficiency and overall customer experience at the terminal.
