The rodeo for youngsters ages 5 through 14 runs from 11 a.m to 2 p.m., weather permitting, in front of police headquarters on Valley Road.

There will be skills events and an obstacle course, as well as free giveaways.

Children also can register their bicycles, in case they're or stolen.

"This a great opportunity for children to learn about bike safety and to interact with members of the Wayne Police department in a positive manner," Capt. Lawrence Martin said. "We look forward to everyone stopping by to participate or just say hello."

All you need is a bicycle, a helmet -- and a parent or guardian.
