WAYNE, N.J. -- Alice Bernhard, 75, of Wayne, died Monday, Dec. 14.
She was born and raised in the Bronx and grew up in the Castle Hill section of the Bronx and graduated St. Helena High School.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at IBM. She was a member of the Sons of Italy in Westchester and of the Tenants Association of Summer Hill Apartments, where she also was their former treasurer.
Bernhard was the cousin of Richard Robbins and his wife Gail of Franklin Lakes and their four children and niece of Nicholas Giardina and his wife, Rosemary and Salvatore Giardina.
The family will receive family and friends from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
