WAYNE, N.J. -- Arnold Stein, of Wayne, died on Thursday, March 2. He was 86.
Born in Paterson, Stein graduated from East Side High School and William Paterson University. He founded A&R Tax Service with his wife in 1974 and "was a dedicated accountant, working until the day before he died," information from the funeral home noted.
He was an avid sports fan and a lifelong fan of the Yankees and Giants, enjoyed golf, and traveled extensively.
Stein is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rhoda Stein; children Ken Stein of Wanaque, Jay and his wife Kathie Stein of Stony Point, Mark and his wife Lisa Stein of Fort Meyers; grandchildren Elizabeth Millard and Jeff, Max and Sophie Stein; and great-grandson Judah.
He was preceded by his parents, Samuel and Anna (Henkowitz) Stein.
The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, March 5, at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel, in Paramus. Interment was in Ridgelawn Cemetery, in Clifton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Memorial Fund at Temple Beth Tikvah, by clicking here.
