HAWTHORNE, N.J. -- Carolyn Marie Kumfert, 76, of Hawthorne, died Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Born in Passaic to Frederick G. Kumfert and Amelia Kumfert, she lived in Fair Lawn before moving to Hawthorne more than 40 years ago.
She was a member of Hawthorne Gospel Church and, before her retirement in 1986, was a mathematics teacher for the Pompton Lakes Board of Education at Pompton Lakes High School for 25 years.
She was predeceased by her father in 1979, and took loving care of her mother until her passing in 1995.
Surviving are her many loving friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hawthorne Christian Academy, 2000 Route 208 North Hawthorne, NJ, 07506, would be appreciated.
