CLIFTON, N.J. -- Cecylia B. Szala, of Clifton, surrounded by her family, died June 19. She was 79.
She was born Nov. 30, 1936, in Blazowa, Poland, to Wincenty and Maria (Drewniak) Brzek. She came to the United States in 1979, first living in Wallington, and in 2005 moving to Clifton.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Passaic.
She was predeceased by her husband Emilian, who died April 7, 2014.
She is survived by her son Adam and his wife Margaret, grandchildren Monika, Jason, Tyler, Pawel and Mariusz; daughter-in-law Danuta; and great-grandchildren Sebastian and Charlotte.
She also was predeceased by her son Zbigniew in 1986; her brother Kostek "Connie" Brzek in March; brothers Joseph and Walter; and sisters Bronislawa and Stefka Sobczyk.
Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave., Wallington. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Parish 7 Parker Ave., Passaic. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in South Hackensack.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested Masses in her memory.
