Irisa Selfo died on Nov. 6. She was 20 years old.

More than $2,500 had been raised as of Monday morning on a GoFundMe page for Irisa's mother, Alma, launched by her sister and "other half," Marinela.

Her mother, Alma, does not have enough money to pay for her own rent, and now must pay for her daughter's funeral and private student loans that she co-signed on, Irisa's sister, Marinela Selfo, said.

"Unfortunately my mother now has to pay for the funeral, and she doesn't make enough to even pay her rent," Marinela wrote.

"Irisa also left behind some private student loans and my mother co-signed them so they are demanding immediate payment of the funds. This would also help with that.

"It's so much harder when it seems like the world is against you and you can't even seem to stay afloat financially long enough to grieve and try to get yourself together a bit."
