PASSAIC, N.J. – Joan F. Pawlikowski Smylla, a resident of Piscataway, died Saturday, July 9. She was 70.
Born in Passaic, she lived in Garfield and North Brunswick before moving to Piscataway 28 years ago. She was an elementary school teacher for the Clifton Board of Education prior to her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Cabrini R.C. Church in Piscataway and former parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka R.C. Church in Garfield.
She is survived by her husband Fred I. Smylla; children, Robert Smylla and Kirsten Smylla; and grandchildren, Ian, John Anthony and Jaiden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Kamienski Funeral Home, 207 Ray St., Garfield. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting will be from 10-11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer St., Hackensack, NJ 07601, in memory of Joan F. Smylla, would be appreciated.
