Jose Enrique Goyco, 76, Of Paterson

PATERSON, N.J. – Jose Enrique Goyco, a resident of Paterson, died Saturday, June 4. He was 76.

Born June 29, 1939, in Anasco, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Enrique and Maria (Nogueras) Goyco.

In 1942, the family came to Manhattan, N.Y. In July of 1958, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served with honor and distinction. In 1961, he moved to Paterson.

He owned his own trucking company, J.J. Trucking & Sons and a gas station for 15 years at Lafayette and 18th St. in Paterson. He also worked as a mechanical engineer for Nabisco, retiring in 2007.

He is survived by his wife Luz Maria; daughters Irma Goyco-Burnhan, Denise Lopez and her husband Henry; sons Jose E. and Jason R. Goyco; daughter Sonia Escobales; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother Nelson Acevedo.

Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Warner-Wozniak Funeral Service, 80 Midland Ave., Wallington. He will be buried in Puerto Rico in the mausoleum he built to the memory of his family.
