Robert H. Estra, 86, Of North Haledon

NORTH HALEDON, N.J. -- Robert H. Estra, of North Haledon, died Saturday, Aug 6. He was 86. 

Born in Paterson, he had lived in Wayne before moving to North Haledon 16 years ago. 

He founded Wayne Tile of Wayne with his brothers Harry and Donald and worked there prior to his retirement in 2007. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Haledon and more recently a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in North Haledon. 

He is survived by his children, Robert and his wife Charlene of Vernon, Wayne and his wife Julie of Vernon and Lauren and her husband (Glenn) of Pompton Plains; grandchildren, Kyle (Lauren) and Kevin Bushoven, Kim (Ryan) Olsen, Sharon (Matt) Bale-Pena and Daniel (Kelley), Kenneth, Tyler, Ashley and Chelsea Westra. 

The family will receive their friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Vander Plaat–Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pompton Plains Bible Church, 415 Boulevard, Pompton Plains. Private interment will be in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Holland Christian Home 151 Grahm Ave., North Haledon, NJ 07508.
