Sarkis Jamgochian, 88, Former Paterson Resident

WOOD-RIDGE, N.J. – Sarkis Jamgochian – a Wood-Ridge resident, formerly of Paterson – died on Tuesday, Feb. 28. He was 88.

For many years, Jamgochian was a photo engraver at Gotham Graphics in Lyndhurst. He retired when he was 62. He was a member of the Lithographers and Photo Engravers International Union for four decades. 

He was a member of St. Leon Armenian Church in Fair Lawn and a former sub-deacon and attended church daily. 

"Sarkis was devoted to caring for his wife during her illness," information from the funeral home noted. "He loved his family and spending time with his grandsons." 

He is survived by her daughter, Lisa Diuro and her husband Daniel, and his grandsons Kyle and Cory Diuro. He was preceded by his wife, Helen (Stoltz) Jamgochian. 

Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, March 3, at the Kimak Funeral Home, 425 Broad St., in Carlstadt. The funeral will depart from the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, for a 10 a.m. funeral service in St. Leon Armenian Church. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, in South Hackensack.
