WAYNE, N.J. -- Veronica "Ronnie" Broderick, of Wayne, died on Thursday, Dec. 15. She was 88.

Broderick attended St. John's University in Brooklyn, graduating summa cum laude in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in management. She and her husband lived in Wyckoff for 40 years before moving to Wayne 10 years ago.

She was an active parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church in Wyckoff, where she was treasurer of the Rosary Altar Society. "She had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother, making thousands of rosaries," information from the funeral home noted.

Broderick also coordinated and delivered the Pilgrim Statue of Mary to hundreds of homes throughout the area. She was a Eucharistic minister for many years, attending daily mass and bringing communion to homes and nursing homes of people who could not attend mass.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John "Jack" Broderick; children Maureen Wilhelm, Veronica Dwyer, Barbara McCurdy, and Jack, Matthew, Phil, Thomas and Timothy Broderick; grandchildren Kristyn, Coleen, Courtney, Sean, Paige, Danielle, Megan, Haley, Mary, Brody, Tim, Luke, Jack, Eiko, Veronica, Brian, Kayleigh, Shannon, Matthew, Lindsay, John, Riley and Nicholas; and great-grandchildren Ethan, Evan and Veronica.

Broderick was predeceased by her parents, Philip and Veronica McNiff; brothers Thomas and Philip; and granddaughter Katie.

A funeral mass was held on Dec. 21 at St. Elizabeth Church, with interment in Christ the King Cemetery, in Franklin Lakes. The Vander Plaat Funeral Home, in Wyckoff, assisted with arrangements.
