HALEDON, N.J. -- Wilma Zimmer (nee Crawford), 90, of Haledon, died July 1, 2016.
Born in Paterson, she was raised in Fair Lawn and lived in Haledon the past 68 years.
Before retirement, she was a teller for New Jersey Bank for more than 20 years.
She was married to the late Matthew Zimmer for 48 years. They met during World War II through letters as he served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.
She was the mother of Matthew Zimmer and his wife Ibett of Haledon and Gail Fleming and her husband Chuck of Reno, Nev.; and grandmother of Matthew, Craig and Martin.
The family will receive their friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen, Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
