CLIFTON, N.J. -- Clifton drug detectives who smelled something fishy found a handgun loaded with prohibited ammo, authorities said.
Detectives John Kavakich, Stephen Berge and William Son found the .38-caliber firearm after stopping a car around noon Wednesday on Lexington Avenue, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
They arrested Joshua Vasquez, 28, on weapons charges.
Also taken into custoday was a woman who Bracken said resisted arrest and assaulted on the officers. Her name was being wittheld for the time being, he said.
Vasquez was ordered held on $50,000 in the Passaic County Jail.
