They issued a surveillance photo of the car in the hopes someone recognizes it or saw something.

Shortly after leaving her house at 8:13 a.m. Monday, the girl told police, she was approached on Old Closter Dock Road.

The driver of what may be a later-model, four-door Acura TL pulled up next to her.

Described as black and his mid-20s, he had dreadlocks that the girl said made him look "like a clown," Detective Sgt. Vincent Aiello said.

After rolling down his window, the driver asked the girl for her social media handles, Aiello said.

"She said no and started to walk away quickly," the sergeant said. "He started shouting something to her as she quickly walked away.

"She does not know what else he was shouting."

The vehicle continued east on Old Closter Dock Road towards West Street.
