Edrian Peguero was driving a vehicle when a gunman pulled up outside 75 Lafayette Street at 7:30 p.m. ept. 4 and “shot from another car and hit him in the neck,” a law enforcement source with knowledge of the incident told Daily Voice at the time.

It began a violent spree that included three more shootings in a span of a little over eight hours, authorities said.

On Saturday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher announced the arrest of Hendryck Acosta in connection with Peguero’s killing.

Both agencies worked together in identifying, finding and charging Acosta with murder and weapons counts, they said.

Acosta remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending arraignment.
