Bergen Detectives, Paterson Police Bust Pair With Half-Pound Of Heroin

PATERSON, N.J. – Bergen County prosecutor’s narcotics detectives teamed up with Paterson police for a traffic stop that produced more than a half-pound of heroin and the arrests of two Passaic County men.

Darien J. Giles of Clifton spent his 23rd birthday in the Bergen County Jail on Friday along with Daiquan N. Starr, also 23, of Paterson.

Bail was set at $100,000 for each.

Detectives arrested both on drug charges after finding the $50,000 worth of heroin during a stop on Wednesday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Friday.

Sept. 7 arraignments were scheduled in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
