The woman said she was walking on Hobart Place around 11 a.m. when she was attacked by an adult white or Hispanic robber, possibly in his 30s, who demanded the wallet, Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

When she refused, he beat her and then ran off with the wallet toward Clifton Avenue, she said.

The woman declined to be hospitalized for her injuries, Bracken said.
