CLOSTER, N.J. – A DWI checkpoint produced one drunk driver – but also netted Closter police three pounds of marijuana and 57 vials of liquid THC from an Oregon couple, authorities said.
Annique Monk-Goldsmith, 33, and Preston Mckinney, 31, were charged with having the drugs with the intent to distribute them near a school, Detective Sgt. Vincent Aiello said.
Monk-Goldsmith and Mckinney, of Bend, were released pending hearings.
Roughly 200 cars were stopped at the six-hour overnight checkpoint, Aiello said.
In addition to the drug bust, police issued 31 summonses and arrested a DWI driver who registered twice the legal limit on an alcohol breath test, he said.
