With help from the fire department, members of the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife dropped a bear from a Glen Rock tree into a net below early this  morning.

The bear will be released in Ringwood or West Milford, officials said.

The first spotting was reported around 7:30 by a Boulevard resident heading to work.

Glen Rock police found the female bear in the tree in a backyard off Mortlock Place a short time later.

They summoned a Fish and Wildlife officer, who fired a tranquilizer dart from the fire truck’s platform device.

The bear subsequently dropped into the net and, later, was taken to Passaic County in a pickup truck.
