Driver hangs upside down after car flips in Fair Lawn

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A driver hung by his seatbelt and shoulder harness for about 20 minutes while emergency workers freed him after his car hit a utility pole in Fair Lawn.

The driver was headed east on Morlot Avenue, between Route 208 and McKinley Street, this morning when he lost control of his Kia Soul, hit the pole and flipped.

Members of the  Fair Lawn Fire Department and Rescue Squad freed the driver, who was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson.

Also responding were Fair Lawn police and the St. Joseph’s paramedic unit. A tow truck operator righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene.
