WOODLAND PARK, N.J. -- Authorities who retrieved an elderly man's body Friday morning from a Morris Canal stream in Woodland Park didn't immediately say whether it was an 85-year-old resident with dementia whose family reported him missing the night before.
Next of kin had to be notified before any identification was publicly made, Detective Lt. John Uzzalino said.
The victim apparently fell down a steep ravine behind the American Legion Hall on Mount Pleasant Avenue, he said.
