The driver also had a knife in his waistband, which was seized, along with a reported $1,237 in cash, Fair Lawn Detective Sgt. Brian Metzler said this morning.
Lt. Derek Bastnick and Officers Robert Manning and Michael Franco responded to the call, just after 7:40 last night, at Berdan Avenue at First Street on a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, Metzler said.
They arrested both the driver, Rabah Rabah, 23, and passenger, 24-year-old Andaleeb Alkhales after a search turned up 75 Oxycontin pills, 39 Zanaxes and the knife, he said.
They were each being held on $30,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with various drug possession counts.
Rabah also was charged with illegal weapons possession.
