Sgt. Michael McNiff approached the four-door Nissan behind the Pompton Road convenience store Tuesday afternoon and spotted a capped hypodermic needle, tourniquet and other paraphernalia in plain view, Capt. Laurence Martin said.

Backup Officer Sean Mitchell arrived, and both found two full envelopes and several empties of heroin stamped “BLACKJACK,” 14 ziplocking bags of crack and a glass pipe, Martin said.

The driver, Donna Ludwick of Glenwood, "struggled to free herself from being handcuffed" before being subdued, the captain said.

Also arrested were Shane W. Ludwick, 27, who Martin said also had Suboxone tabs, and Joshua M. Ludwick, 24.

All were released on court summonses charging them with various drug offenses.

Dona Ludwick was also charged with resisting arrest, the captain said.
