It came a day before another female pedestrian was killed – and a 6-year-old boy critically injured -- barely a mile up Valley Road.

Rosa Nikhamina, 78, succumbed to her injuries at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson after she was struck by a 2007 GMC Sierra at the intersection of Valley Road and MacDonald Drive just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, authorities said.

The 50-year-old driver from Plainfield remained at the scene, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Police Chief James Clarke said in a joint announcement.

The other crash occurred around 7 p.m. Tuesday, when and a 6-year-old boy were struck by a four-door Chevy Impala while crossing Valley Road at Birchwood Terrace.
