Kaheem Hunt, 30, is charged with murder, conspiracy and weapons offenses -- bringing the city Detective Bureau's solve rate this year to 87%, Police Director Jerry Speziale said Thursday.

Juan Martinez, 39, was rushed to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center after Monday's 4:45 p.m. shooting at Madison and Essex streets but died in the operating room, Speziale said.

Detectives identified Hunt as one of the killers and arrested him, the director said.

They were still looking for others, he said.

Speziale asked that anyone with information that could help find them call: (973) 321-1120.

Working the case are Detective Lt. Bert Ribeiro, Detective Sgt. Abe Hamdeh and Detectives Steve Leishman, Richard Martinez and Al Bermudez, along with Detective Anthony Aceste of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Michael Cossari of the Paterson PD Crime Scene Unit.
