Garfield Police Get Special Training In Teen Opiate Abuse

GARFIELD, N.J. -- In an effort to connect with high school students and teach them about the dangers of opiates, a group of Garfield police officers attended a comprehensive drug awareness training program.

#NotEvenOnce was launched by the Manchester Township Police Department "to bolster the prevention aspect of curtailing drug abuse focusing on the teen population," Officer Jeff Stewart told Daily Voice.

Police Chief Raymond Kovach will continue sending officers for the special training so that he can implement the program citywide once the school years starts in September, Stewart said.
