Haledon Junior Police Cadets See Jail, SWAT, K-9, Crime Scene Unit, More

HALEDON, N.J. -- A group of students from Manchester Regional High School enjoyed a week of training in the Haledon Junior Police Academy.

The 22 cadets saw demostrations by the the Passaic County Sheriff's SWAT Team, Bomb Squad, K-9 Unit and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Unit -- and got to tour the county jail.

They also were familiarized with CPR, first aid and criminal law, while also meeting with Haledon firefighters and members of the National Guard.

They underwent physical training, as well.

"​I commend Sgt. Frank Conca and Sgt. Jessica Funes for a job well done as lead instructors,' Police Chief Angelo Daniele said. "I would like to thank Passaic County Sheriff's Officer/Haledon Councilman Carlos Aymat for his instrumental role in this program as well. We also thank Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik."
