Sgt. Gianluca Ragone pulled a car over on Durie Avenue in Closter after following it from Schraalenberg Road for several motor vehicle violations Friday night, Sgt. Justin Fox said.

The 31-year-old driver from Bergenfield was charged with having eight Oxycontin pills and issued a pair of motor vehicle summonses before being released pending a hearing, he said.

Ragone was back on the road a couple of hours later when he stopped a Lyft driver on Sunset Avenue for several motor vehicle violations, Fox said.

He arrested 29-year-old Richard Sinowell from Perth Amboy after finding heroin, crack and pipes used to smoke both drugs in the car, he said.

Sinowell was released pending a court hearing on possession of drugs and paraphernalia charges. He also received a trio of motor vehicle summonses, Fox said.
