A judged ordered Juan Garcia-Martinez, 46, of Palisades Park, and Rafael Garcia-Reyes, 47, of Bayonne, held on $250,000 bail each pending a Nov. 9 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on drug charges.

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Friday that his investigators got a tip in September about large amounts of heroin and Fentanyl being distributed through both counties.

They zeroed in on three spots – in West New York and Bayonne and at the basement apartment in the 200 block of 12th Street in Palisades Park – that they hit in raids early Friday, he said.

Besides the 21 kilos of heroin, authorities seized a “kilo press,” a money counter, digital scale and packaging materials – “all items used in furtherance of narcotics distribution,” the prosecutor said.

Grewal thanked members of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Palisades Park, Bayonne and West New York police departments.
