Officers Peter Bongiovanni and Stanislav Tovbin both have several years of police experience between them.

Bongiovanni was with South Hackensack's force when he and fellow Officer John Clark -- covering their faces with towels -- evacuated a burning spa on Route 46, getting all patrons and employees out safely.

Tovbin, meanwhile, helped rescue a trio of hikers who became lost in the upper lake area of the Ramapo Reservation in Mahwah several years ago.
