YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A New Jersey State Police trooper’s car ended up on its side on the Turnpike this morning, sending the officer to the hospital with what were being characterized as non-life-threatening injuries.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. as the trooper headed north on the eastbound spur in Secaucus between the 1-495/Lincoln Tunnel ramps and Exit 17, NJSP Lt. Stephen Jones told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .
The officer was taken by medical helicopter to UMDNJ in Newark, he said.
Identification is temporarily being withheld, in keeping with federal guidelines.
