Njsp trooper injured in Turnpike crash in Secaucus

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A New Jersey State Police trooper’s car ended up on its side on the Turnpike this morning, sending the officer to the hospital with what were being characterized as non-life-threatening injuries.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. as the trooper headed north on the eastbound spur in Secaucus between the 1-495/Lincoln Tunnel ramps and Exit 17, NJSP Lt. Stephen Jones told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The officer was taken by medical helicopter to UMDNJ in Newark, he said.

Identification is temporarily being withheld, in keeping with federal guidelines.
