The officer was traveling past the area of Luddington Avenue and Third Street around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when he spotted the two – “one of whom was hiding between two parked cars,” Clifton Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.

They both took off, and the officer notified Clifton police, who flooded the area, Bracken said.

Sgt. David Roe found them soon after, he said.

Police recovering nearly three dozen pieces of merchandise stolen from several vehicles from them and in the immediate area – including jewelry, cash, and electronics, the lieutenant said.

Johander Perez-Bautista, 23, of Passaic and Braulio Sosa, 21, of Clifton were both charged with burglary and receiving stolen property. Perez-Bautista also was charged with hindering apprehension.
