The Laurel Avenue victim told police she heard a noise just after 4 p.m. and found the boy had broken in and was removing the wallet, Lt. Robert Bracken said.

Then he took off, she said.

Officer Thomas Buell, who was among those who flooded the area, spotted the teen hopping a fence and fleeing, Bracken said.

Buell chased the boy down, found the wallet and took the teen into custody, he said.

Police filed a delinquency complaint charging the boy with burglary and theft, Bracken said.
