Devorah Stubin, 22, left her home around 8:30 p.m Thursday to pick up her brother from a rest stop on the Garden State Parkway near Exit 151, Passaic Detective Andy White told Daily Voice.

A few minutes later Stubin called her father and said she was lost in Maywood, White said.

Family members said Stubin was stopped by police in Maywood and given directions to the Garden State Parkway around 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

Maywood Police Chief David Pegg confirmed to Daily Voice that a police officer stopped Stubin on East Central Avenue and The Esplanade around that time for traffic without headlights. She was given a summons and directions to the Parkway, he said.

Family members said they got no response to phone calls or texts after that and had no luck calling various hospitals, police stations and New Jersey State Police barracks. Her mother, Shoshana Stubin, called her daughter a "very straight arrow."

She was driving a silver 1998 Mitsubishi Galant with a peeling sunroof with gray tape around it and striped orange and gray tape around the antenna, with license plate K40-FPH, White said.

Family members said she was wearing a black sweater and skirt, a pink wool coat, rainbow sneakers and wire-rim glasses. She's 5-foot-2, they said.

Anyone who sees Stubin or her vehicle can contact their local police department or Passaic Detective Mark Watkins at (973) 365-3932.
