Police: Fair Lawn Officer Nabs Teaneck Hit-Run Driver In Elmwood Park

FAIR LAWN, N.J. – Fair Lawn police arrested an Englewood driver moments after authorities said he fled the scene of a crash late Sunday in Teaneck.

Responding to a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a vehicle heavily damaged in the Route 4 crash, Officer Geovanny Buitron stopped the car on Broadway in Elmwood Park, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The driver, 43-year-old Richard Hill, failed roadside sobriety tests and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustaine din the crash, Metzler said.

Fair Lawn police charged him with DWI.

Other charges were filed out of Teaneck.
