CLIFTON, N.J. -- A 36-year-old Garfield woman who had her purse snatched overnight Wednesday in Clifton sustained some injuries but wasn't hospitalized, authorities said.
City police responding to a 12:30 a.m. report of a woman screaming for help at Randolph and Lake avenues found her being assisted by Garfield police on River Road, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
The woman told them she was walking through Botany Square when the robber hit her and ran off with her purse, accompanied by at least two other men.
All three appeared in their late teens or 20s, she said.
